The beauty of technology

Technology. I have a love/hate relationship with technology.

The non-techie part of me seriously dislikes technology, especially when it decides not to behave and do what it is meant to do! The part of me that loves technology is the part that allows me to rediscover past friendships, keep up to date with my family members who live overseas and also the ability to develop working relationships and connect with my sister survivors.

Social media, in particular Facebook, has allowed me to reconnect with my high school friends who I lost touch with. It has been wonderful to see how our lives have developed and how there is still that young 15 year old school girl in each of us. Social media also allows me to stay connected to my family who live overseas. I love Skype for this, WhatsApp for text messages and of course Facebook for photos. It has allowed my family to feel like we are still in each other’s lives despite the distance and share milestones and celebrations. There is a fantastic family photo with all of us and my niece on a laptop via Skype.

The wonders of technology has also really worked for Red Fern Lingerie. Red Fern Lingerie is manufactured in Europe and through the beauty of technology, I have developed a fantastic working relationship with my manufacturer. It has allowed both myself and my manufacturer to ‘see’ the real human on the other side of the globe and made it more real. It also has made the process easy and simple.

Through social media and the website I have been able to bring the Red Fern Lingerie brand to the world so my sister survivors have a choice in mastectomy lingerie, the same choice we enjoyed before cancer took it away. It has been truly beautiful to see the connections develop and provide the change in mastectomy lingerie that has been void for too long.

There are many exciting things happening at Red Fern Lingerie headquarters and I thank technology for making the process easy and simple. My love/hate relationship with Techie is moving towards more love and less hate.

We are currently stocked in Colleen’s Post Mastectomy Connection, Canberra; Leila O’Toole, Sydney; and Heavenly Curves, Wetherill Park…..with more boutiques to come. If you are unable to attend the stockists, we also have an online boutique redfernlingerie.com

Please feel free to send me an email with your thoughts and feedback.

Love and health

Tina xx
