Lately I have been thinking about how I have returned to my roots…..well kind of.
Although I am not a trained designer, I felt like I was returning to my roots. My father was a tailor and his father and brothers were shoe makers. Pretty much explains why I love clothes and shoes…..it must be in my blood.
One of the many things I learnt from my Dad was to seek excellent quality and craftsmanship. To this very day he is extremely particular about clothing and shoes. The way he examines a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes is like watching a master working his craft.
Dad was trained in an era where quality and pride were an important part of crafting the garment he was working on. Quality is the reason I chose to have the lingerie produced in Europe. I was seeking artisan quality that Europeans are renowned for. I was also seeking the old world pride in craftsmanship. I wanted the lingerie to be beautiful. I wanted the fit to be perfect. I wanted my sister survivors to feel like the gorgeous women they are and have the choice to wear sexy, feminine and well-made beautiful lingerie.
I have poured my heart, soul and pride into creating Red Fern Lingerie. When you wear Red Fern Lingerie I hope you will see the quality and feel the beauty of one of the most delicate and complicated garments to make. I hope you feel beautiful, sexy and feminine.
My visits to specialty mastectomy boutiques has also reaffirmed the quality of our lingerie. The professional fitters have been impressed with the quality, fit and function; and they also loved the modern designs and styles. We are currently stocked in Colleen’s Post Mastectomy Connection, Canberra, Leila O’Toole, Sydney and Heavenly Curves, Wetherill Park…..with more boutiques to come. If you are unable to attend the stockists, we also have an online boutique redfernlingerie.com
Please feel free to send me an email with your thoughts and feedback.
