The beauty of technology

Posted by Tina Doueihi on

Technology. I have a love/hate relationship with technology. The non-techie part of me seriously dislikes technology, especially when it decides not to behave and do what it is meant to do! The part of me that loves technology is the part that allows me to rediscover past friendships, keep up to date with my family members who live overseas and also the ability to develop working relationships and connect with my sister survivors. Social media, in particular Facebook, has allowed me to reconnect with my high school friends who I lost touch with. It has been wonderful to see how...

I am Woman

One of my all-time favourite ‘female strong’ song is “I am Woman” by Helen Reddy. This song was released in 1972 and to this very day, I still love it and want to sing it loud and proud….and quite off-key. Returning to my roots....kind of.

Lately I have been thinking about how I have returned to my roots…..well kind of. Although I am not a trained designer, I felt like I was returning to my roots. My father was a tailor and his father and brothers were shoe makers. Pretty much explains why I love clothes and shoes…..it must be in my blood. One of the many things I learnt from my Dad was to seek excellent quality and craftsmanship. To this very day he is extremely particular about clothing and shoes. The way he examines a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes...

Being Grateful

Posted by Tina Doueihi on

Today, I am writing about being grateful, because I have a lot to be grateful for. A lot. Every day, well more days than not….I am human and have my down days, I wake up and say thank you to the big bloke upstairs and all his executive staff. I honestly believe there is someone seriously looking out for me. Every night (again more days than not), I also say thank you for the day I had. My usual list of things that I am grateful for and say thank you are my health, the opportunity to create Red Fern...
